6 LAST-MINUTE TIPS FOR BLACK FRIDAY CYBER MONDAY
Yes, it's the time of year when everyone goes a little 🥜over Black Friday & Cyber Monday and the 7 gazillion other sales that seem to happen in November and December!
How are you feeling about it all? Overwhelmed? I get it!
I have been helping my clients map out their plans for the past couple of months (or weeks, no shame in last-minute plans 💁🏻♀️) and I want to share with you some of my top tips to help you stay calm, stay focused and keep your eye on the prize.
1. START WITH YOUR GOAL IN MIND
What will you be happy with in terms of revenue, workload, and stock levels? Work back from there. Remember, you don't HAVE to participate if you feel your business or you can't cope with the extra influx of orders.
2. STAY SIMPLE
Keep your offer (and your marketing to-do list) simple. For example, choose a clear and easy to communicate offer like 20% off + FREE SHIPPING or even just FREE SHIPPING can work really well too!
3. KEEP CALM & FOCUSED
Put those blinkers on and stick to your plan. You will only distract and second guess yourself by looking at what everyone else is doing. Trust your instinct and do what's right for your business 💪🏼
4. START EARLY
This year is going to be a whopper and more brands are starting early as you have probably seen. You can launch your offer earlier than Nov 27 (Black Friday) to snag your buyers shopping money first and avoid getting lost in the noise. Most of my clients are taking this approach, plus also doing a second offer across BFCM = 2 bights of the cherry! 💰💰
5. EMAILS EMAILS EMAILS
If you have been around here for a while, you know how obsessed I am about email marketing for eCommerce. Paid advertising is a bit of a 💩 show this time of year, which makes email marketing your best friend.
You own it
You control it
It's high converting.
You can increase the frequency during this period, I encourage it. Please just make sure they all have a different angle and subject line, otherwise, it feels like spam, right?
Everything comes down to your subject line - so please give this some thought. Use tactics like curiosity, urgency, emoji's and humour to get your subscribers to open that sucker!
Also don't forget to update your abandoned cart and browse abandonment emails for the sale period so it's relevant to your offer.
6. HAVE FUN!
Embrace the madness and have some fun. Get in front of your audience and show them just how exciting and wonderful it is to have their support and loyalty! Think - packing orders, Christmas decorations, piles of deliveries, celebrating. Show your face, have fun.
